WHIST TRAVELLING IN INDIA, ON THE LONG JOURNEY FROM MADRAS TO CALCUTTA A MOST UNUSUAL EVENT HAPPENED. ALL RAILWAY CARRIAGES ARE LOCKED SO THAT PEOPLE CANNOT WALK THE LENGTH OF THE TRAIN. AT 100 KMH WE HEAR A KNOCK ON THE OUTSIDE DOOR! THE DOOR HAS THREE DROP LEVERS, SO WE HAD TO GAIN THE ASSISTANCE OF A THAI MAN TO HELP US RETRIEVE THIS VILLAGER WHO COMPLETE WITH TURBAN, ROBES AND TEAPOT WAS SIMPLY A LOCAL SELLING TEA TO TRAVELLERS. HIS PARTNER, WITH THE SKILL OF A CRICKETER WAS ABLE TO THROW THE LARGE TEAPOT FROM CARRIAGE TO CARRIAGE. BOTH OF THEM ALSO HAD TO JUMP 2 METRES TO CONTINUE THEIR WORK. TO THIS DAY I ONLY HAVE TO SAY "REMEMBER THE TEA MAN" AND WE ALL JOYOUSLY LAUGH THE DAY AWAY.
THE TEA WAS MILKY AND WONDERFUL AND WE GOT TO KEEP THE CLAY CUPS.
